The biggest challenge facing Auck- land City FC ahead of tonight's ASB Premiership match against Waikato FC looks set to be a psychological one. Auckland coach Ramon Tribulietx says after a break in training it is difficult to reach the same level of motivation, especially following a club world cup. We will have to tune in very quickly as we have an intensive week ahead with two games on the road, which will help us regain our sharp- ness early.'' The navy blues face a tough sche- dule with an away match against Canterbury United on Sunday follow- ing tonight's clash with Waikato. Waikato FC are in fine form with two convincing wins in the compe- tition so Auckland could have a diffi- cult match on their hands. Tribulietx is understandably cau- tious going in to the game as it is the first Auckland have played against Waikato under new coach Mark Cossey. We need to be prepared to readjust quickly to what's happening during the game. We've had three days training in the first week of January to start our engines up.'' But Waikato's track record in this fixture is far from stellar. The last time the team notched up a win over Auckland was seven years ago with a 1-0 win at Kiwitea St. The hosts also face a tough sche- dule taking on Hawke's Bay United on Sunday, prompting Cossey to add Elliott Collier and Nathan Palmer to his squad. Tribulietx has no specific transfer targets but is keeping an open mind. As a club we always want to be prepared in case we lose a player in the transfer windows. We are aware of the situation of the transfer win- dow in mid season,'' Tribulietx says. It is a difficult situation because most players have existing contracts, but if we lose any players we always work hard to replace them.'' Three players are bracketed for inclusion in the Auckland squad with James Pritchett, Jason Hicks and Pedro Santa Cecilia Garcia under observation. Striker Adam Dickinson will miss the match because he is overseas. The match kicks off at 5.30pm at Centennial Park in Waikato.
