Health& well-beingAdvertising Feature Are you ready to fly high? The International Travel College of New Zealand (ITC) has just opened a brand new Airport Training Centre at its City Campus. The centre will be only the second of its kind in the country; the first is at ITC's Botany Campus. The huge Airport Training Centres simulate real-world airports, including check in, customs, gate lounges, and even planes where students are trained in all aspects of in-flight service. Training also incorporates the CODECO online check in system, currently used by 52 airlines worldwide. ITC has been a premium supplier in the airline, airport and travel and tourism industries for over 15 years. The college focuses on making its' training relevant to employers in those areas. "We've got great relationships with the industries we work with, and the practical nature of our courses means that our graduates are ready to work in their chosen fields," says ITC's Marketing Director Claire Huxley. "That translates into great job placement rates and a willingness from our industry partners to provide our students with onsite work experience." Both ITC's Botany and City Campuses are taking 2011 enrolments now. Find out how you can launch your career in the airline, airport, and travel and tourism industries by phoning the ITC Team now 0800 868747 or (09) 373 5510 for more information, or check our website www.itc.co.nz Advertorial No secret: Orewa resident Eileen Laking says turning 100 is something which just happens and there are no secrets to it. The Maygrove Retirement Village resident celebrated her birthday with friends and family, also receiving birthday greetings from Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister John Key. No giant secret to turning the big 100 By MICHELE ONG Eileen Laking views turning 100 as some- thing which just happens . And the secret to a ripe old age is that there are no secrets at all, the Orewa resident says. People keep asking me what s the secret to old age , and I say there s no secret at all. No idea how I managed it, the May- grove Retirement Village resident says. Eileen lived in One- hunga for 93 years before moving to the Hibiscus Coast with her sister. Her dad was a tailor and ran his own business on Queen St -- the street now known as Onehunga Mall. But Eileen did not fol- low in her father s footsteps because she hated to sew . She worked instead as a clerk for 45 years at the former Seddon Mem- orial Technology College, now AUT University, on Auckland city s Welles- ley St. She enjoyed her job and says it was her colleagues who made the work environment a good one. Eileen celebrated her 100th with friends and family, and had a birth- day lunch at Red Beach Methodist Church.
