Are you ready to fly high? The International Travel College of New Zealand (ITC) has just opened a brand new Airport Training Centre at its City Campus. The centre will be only the second of its kind in the country; the first is at ITC's Botany Campus. The huge Airport Training Centres simulate real-world airports, including check in, customs, gate lounges, and even planes where students are trained in all aspects of in-flight service. Training also incorporates the CODECO online check in system, currently used by 52 airlines worldwide. ITC has been a premium supplier in the airline, airport and travel and tourism industries for over 15 years. The college focuses on making its' training relevant to employers in those areas. "We've got great relationships with the industries we work with, and the practical nature of our courses means that our graduates are ready to work in their chosen fields," says ITC's Marketing Director Claire Huxley. "That translates into great job placement rates and a willingness from our industry partners to provide our students with onsite work experience." Both ITC's Botany and City Campuses are taking 2011 enrolments now. The guild raised $28,000 for the mission after temporarily open- ing the High St Lucky Christmas Shop in December, with gifts donated by local busi- nesses. Guild spokesman Chris Cherry says shoppers embraced the concept of buying mys- tery gifts, priced between $10 and $100, for a good cause. We sold out twice dur- ing the two-and-a-half- week campaign and ended up closing two days before Christmas because we ran out of presents. Mr Cherry says he s thrilled with the out- come. I didn t really know what to expect -- I thought we might get $10,000 to at least make it worthwhile. The response from the community was fan- tastic. City missioner Diane Robertson says the con- cept of a lucky Christmas shop is very innovative. To have a street of shops get together as a community to support a community of people that are often excluded from things is great. It was a really lovely way for people to make a donation. She says the guild did an amazing job bringing the shop together with just six weeks prep- aration. The mission provides services to the needy, including shelter for homeless people, food parcels and rehabili- tation programmes. Mr Cherry says the guild is planning another shop on High St this Christmas. 67 Ranfurly Rd (between Gillies Ave & Manukau Rd), Epsom, Auckland 1023. email@example.com www.realliving.co.nz EV CLQP2302 Phone Robyn Morton on 09 630 4379 or 021 845 524 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org Epsom Village is a friendly boutique retirement community set in a neighbourhood of multi-million dollar homes.
