Winning form: Former students from Epsom Girls Grammar and St Cuthberts College have taken home two of New Zealand's most sought-after scholarships in engineering. She is pictured with Rotary Club of Auckland president Don Bendall. Sheena Garg, a fourth year chemical and materials engineering student who attended Epsom Girls Grammar, has been awarded a Beca Engineering Scholarship worth $3000. Free ride: Onehunga Primary School student Karishma Singh brought her year 6 class on a free train trip from Onehunga to Auckland city last month. This was Karishma's prize for winning a colouring-in competition aimed at keeping kids safe around railway tracks. Teacher Jan Downey says: ''The children are so proud that Karishma won, and very excited about the trip.'' Learning first-hand: Seventeen year 7 and 8 students from Ficino School in Mt Eden went to Europe to experience first- hand the wonders of the Renaissance. The students were accompanied by three teachers and five parents and embarked on a 20 day tour of Italy and England where they studied key works from the Renaissance created between the 14th and 17th centuries.
