The Sigtec Group has announced a new con- tract with the Auckland Regional Transport Authority which will see the upgrade of Auck- land's real time passen- ger information system. The multi-modal im- provements are set to be in place before next year's Rugby World Cup. Auckland commuters will not only receive predicted arrival infor- mation at the stop or platform,'' Sigtec chief operations officer Bill Delaney says. The rapid system is providing real time predictions for arrival of bus services at over 5000 stops on the Auckland public transport system, via the Maxx website and SMS. Rail and ferry services will be added as part of this upgrade.'' Priority is automati- cally requested at traffic lights for buses running late. Festival the place to be Whether it's doing some early Christmas shop- ping, enjoying food from around the world or dancing to an eclectic range of music, the Grey Lynn Park Festival is the place to be this month. There'll be New Zea- land arts and crafts on sale, a gypsy village to explore for those who prefer a mobile home to the city pad and Larry and Rosie's fun fair or farmyard fun for the kids. An eco-zone and local farmers' market will also be on show. On the music stage a host of local schools and community groups will perform along with emerging and well- known musicians. The festival will run from 9.30am to 5.30pm on November 20. There is no eftpos at the event so cash is essential. Email the organisers at greylynnparkfestival @gmail.com if you want to get involved with next year's event.
