The centre, which is being built beside the Auckland Town Hall, aims to be a central space for arts in Auck- land, offering a mid-sized theatre as well as another, smaller per- formance space. Construction is on schedule and the $21 million project is set to open in September 2011. The managing board is now calling for a direc- tor, who will oversee day-to-day operations of the theatre. We re looking for a person who has experi- ence and the passion to really lead this wonder- ful development, board director Elisabeth Vanevald says. She says the board does not have anyone in mind for the position, but somebody who is an advocate for the arts and has connections in the industry would have an edge. General manager Susanne Ritzenhoff may apply, as her role overseeing construction and management lead- ing up to Q Theatre s opening ends next year. It s definitely in the thinking. I m going through the processes at the moment and I guess all will be revealed at the end of November. There are a lot of options for me and I have learnt a lot about project management over the last four years in this job, Ms Ritzen- hoff says. Ms Vanevald says so far the lead up to the theatre s opening is going as planned. We re tremendously pleased with things, and hand on heart every- thing is running well. The arts centre was approved for construc- tion by the Auckland City Council s finance and strategy committee in December last year. Applications for the position of director close at the end of November. Dentures: Time for a change? Is it time to change your dentures? Are your dentures showing signs of wear and tear and hurting you, and do your facial features sag and appear sunken? It is more than likely time for a change of dentures. The question: Would you like the same old picket fence design, or, would you like to make use of the opportunity to acquire really good- look- ing dentures? A successful set of dentures is measured by the ability of the clinical technician to craft a natural looking setup of teeth that functions well. This requires an artis- tic flair for the life-like appearance, skill and experience to choose the appropriate teeth that would enhance the looks of the patient, combined with the knowledge of materials that would ensure the required mileage out of your dentures. Function is ensured by the meticulous process of registering the bite which sprouts from years of experience. dentures.co.nz caters for the discerning den- ture wearer who cares about quality and perfec- tion.
